How I healed sinusitis when docs told me it would take 3 weeks

Getting a cold is one thing, getting sinusitis? Well now, that just sucks. And unless you want to take steroid nasal sprays…apparently there is nothing you can do but wait it out.

Unfortunately, as a self employed massage therapist I can’t afford to wait it out. Taking two-three weeks sick leave is NOT an option, but neither is getting my clients sick.

So, what was I to do?

Thank god for aromatherapy, that’s what.

The blend I used to heal Sinusitis…

When doctors told me all they could offer was a steroid nasal spray, I immediately said no. I don’t like using steroid medication if I can avoid it. I often find some medication (moreso the ones you buy over the counter) to be counterintuitive. By that I mean, you have to keep taking them to get the results you want. Essentially, they heal the symptoms – not the problem.

So I took a look at the essential oils that would help and used the following:

🌹Rosemary – 5 drops
🌺 Geranium – 5 drops
🌿Eucalyptus – 2 drops
🌱Peppermint – 3 drops

All diluted in 15ml of sweet almond oil.

What to do next…

Every night and every morning for three days, I massaged this oil around my neck, behind and in front of my ears, over my cheekbone, nose and forehead.

And guess what? My sinusitis that the doctor said would take 3 weeks to clear, cleared in THREE DAYS.

It just goes to show not only the power of essential oils, but how sometimes old fashioned remedies really do have more impact than we give them credit for. If there is something you can fix that doesn’t require antibiotics (and we know we are now building up an immunity to them anyway…) it’s always worth looking for an alternative or a complementary aid.
